The Red Zone Project is designed to provide valuable information to Fire Suppression personnel

regarding the current wildland fire risk of all properties in Archuleta County. Fire Department and

Emergency Management personnel are surveying each and every property in the County gathering

information and photographing them. This information is entered into a data base which is to be

used during wildland fire incidents. The information will be used in making critical firefighting and

resource allocation decisions during these types of incidents.

When crews are in your area there will be signs posted to inform the public of these activities.

If you have questions about Red Zone you may contact the Emergency Operations Center (EOC)

at 970-731-4799 or the Pagosa Fire Protection District at 970-731-4191.
